Parish Financial Report 2013 to 2014 Fiscal Year

Parish Financial Report 2013 to 2014 Fiscal Year

I have included a link to the parish financial report for the year ended June 30, 2014. As you read the report, you might have a number of questions. I ask for your patience with this year’s reporting. In July 2014 I was very pleased to hire Dennis Haas as our very first business manager. He and I have been working very hard to adjust our accounting procedures to be completely in line with Archdiocesan procedures. As a result we are using different charts of account and the transition to the new way creates some havoc in the reporting. In addition with our capital expenditures we have been moving funds around in the Archdiocesan Loan/Deposit program, withdrawing funds as well as making transfers to savings. I will promise you that we will have a better report next year that will be easier to read and follow.

I can assure you that the financial status of the parish is very strong. This is due to your continued support of the parish through your Sunday donations and the huge boost our parish received in your generosity to the Changing Lives Together initiative. Also, Dennis Haas and I along with the parish staff make great efforts to lower the expenses of the parish in the spirit of good stewardship of your donations.

I again thank you for your goodness to our parish and also to the Archdiocese and the worldwide church that you help through your contributions to the special extra collections we have. Our Lady of Refuge Parish has much to be proud of and in the spirit of our Thanksgiving Day, we are all grateful for God’s blessings on us. We thank Him.

We Are Debt Free!

With the donations received through June 30 from the Changing Lives Together initiative, we were able to make our final payment on our loan from the Archdiocese of Detroit. Congratulations to us – a time to celebrate.

I am planning something at the end of the summer to mark the occasion.
