Children’s Liturgy of the Word is looking for leaders

… to help out once a month

Liturgy of the Word with Children is a worship experience tailored for children ages 5 to 7 years old. This runs from September through May on Sunday’s at the 11:30 am Mass. The purpose is to engage the child’s interest in Scripture and allow the children to better understand the importance of reverence and prayer during the Liturgy. Children’s Liturgy of the Word will follow the basic structure of the Liturgy of the Word during Mass. After gathering in the church at the start of Mass for the Introductory Rites, the children process out of the church. The children will gather together to hear the readings from the lectionary, sing the Psalm, hear a brief homily, and join together in the prayers of the faithful. They receive a sheet that goes home. The children return to the assembly to join in celebrating the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

We encourage teens and adults to participate as leaders and assistants. If interested in this ministry, please join and observe one of the leaders at a session. Contact Denette Plant at 248.682.6381 for more details.
