Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Waters of Light Service Project – November 5, 2022

  • Sleep In Heavenly Peace of Western Wayne County
  • Need 110 volunteers to build 100 beds for children who don’t have one
  • No experience necessary
  • Perfect experience for the entire family (ages 12 and up)
  • Gloves, dust masks, water, donuts are provided by SHP
  • All building materials are supplied by SHP
  • Cost of this service project has been paid by Prince of Peace
  • SHP is a nationwide non-profit organization that builds beds for children who do not have one.
  • Beds are delivered with mattresses, sheets, comforters and pillows.
  • Wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!
  • We will be sanding, drilling, cutting, staining etc

Blood Drive – October 24th

Our Lady Of Refuge Church is hosting the American Red Cross for a blood drive in the Social Hall on Monday, October 24th from 1-7pm.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

Crossroads Soup Kitchen – October 23rd

When: Sunday October 23rd

Two shifts:
Morning 8:00 am – noon prepares the food & set up
Afternoon 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. serves the food and cleans up

This event has been a project that our Parish Family has supported for many years and there is much need in our community.

Needed Pantry Items

Did you know that every 6 weeks we give out toiletry items and cleaning supplies to our neighbors in need?

We are always in need of FULL SIZE:

  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Body Wash & Netted Sponges
  • Hand Soap
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • Dish detergent
  • Laundry detergent
  • All purpose cleaner

Angel’s Place Meal Delivery

We are continuing to take meals every M-W-F to Angel’s Place Maxwell home located on Saddlewood Dr. near Marshbank Park. YOU MUST SIGN UP THROUGH SIGN UP GENIUS. Please drop off between 3-5 p.m. There are 6 men and 2 staff members. There is a cooler on the porch or just ring the bell and leave it on the table. You can bring their meal warm or let them heat it up with directions. 

When you sign up through sign up genius (link below) please fill in what you plan to bring so there are limited duplications. The men and staff at Angel’s place are very appreciative of every meal they receive.

We Make Cards!!

Do you know someone who would love to get a card in the mail telling them that they are loved and being prayed for?would love to send them a special church made card and pray for their special intention.

Fill out the form in the narthex, drop this card in the “mailbox” located by the bulletin boards. and we will send it out right away! Or e-mail Make sure you include:

Name of person receiving the card, address, city, state and zip code, reason for card, Your name (If you want it included in the card)
